The Karori Sanctuary is a fabulous place to visit. They conserve and preserve New Zealand native birds and flora, along with tuatara, weta and other life forms.
While they charge entry, sell books and posters, and encourage memberships, they still need more funding for their projects.
Their street appeal on 5, 6 and 7 February 2009 needs collectors. Could that be you?
If not, how about making a donation of money, or joining up as a member?
For me, 2009 is a year where I do no volunteer work at all. I’m already a member of the Sanctuary and hope to do my bit for this collection by promoting it here.

This promotion definitely counts as an act of voluntary work. So much for no volunteering in 2009. It’s hard to break the habit!
