What’s that mess?
, I thought, as I hung my black fleece sweater on the washing line. Then I remembered: I’d put some coins in a charity street collector’s box the other day and slapped the sticker onto my sweater.
Putting the whole lot through a wash cycle hadn’t done either the sticker or my sweater any good. Now there was a roughly circular, unsightly large white mess prominently visible on my sweater.
Googling brought me solutions such as using WD-40 and various products we probably don’t have here in New Zealand, but one solution appealed to me, especially as I had the necessary tools right to hand, and I knew the principle applied to removing cat hair from clothes.
I found some of that very sticky masking tape in the drawer and applied it to the mess. Immediately some of it lifted off.
It took me a few minutes and a foot or two of tape, but before long pretty well all the mess was gone. The few remaining traces will wash out next time, I’m sure.
Hooray for very sticky tape.
